"The Autism Puzzle: Helping Families Connect the Pieces"
The office of Turning Point Behavioral Psychology has teamed up with Parent to Parent of Georgia, child and education advocates and several local service providers to host a parent group for families of children newly diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum or Pervasive Developmental Disorder.
Who is the group for?
This group is for families of children who have been recently diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder or other Pervasive Developmental Disorder and are seeking advice, services and support through networks and providers in the Roswell Community
What is the purpose of this group? 1) Provide families with insight on how to effectively navigate the Georgia healthcare system
2) Inform families of their rights under the IDEA
3) Provide tips on organization and record keeping for IEP's
4) Educate families about local resources, including support groups and therapy providers
5) Equip families with tools to help manage their child's behavior as well as their own stress
When and where will the groups be held?
The groups will be held September 23rd through November 18th and will begin at 6:00 P.M., Thursday evenings, at the office of Turning Point Behavioral Psychology, located in the Oak Brook Complex off Alpharetta Highway and Elkins Road
